Senior Paraplanner

The role is based in our office in Broxbourne, East Herts (25-30 minutes from Liverpool St Stn).

This is a career position for a serious long termist individual. The package is highly progressive. It rewards success.  Remuneration in this company is focussed on rewarding achievement of individuals and of the company.

We seek, effectively, a paraplanner who can develop to write detailed, in-depth and complex financial planning reports bringing together technical and the client’s life story with an holistic approach.  We do not seek a researcher or a portfolio performance monitor or a business developer.
 

You will likely have at least a few successful years in financial services as a paraplanner or as an adviser.

Graduate or graduate calibre preferred with good financial advice experience or planning.

Training, as required, will be provided as well as an excellent study package.

Main Specifications:

• To write client suitability reports, limited and holistic financial plans.
• To develop further skills and knowledge for complex multi-scenario financial planning reports.
• To assist planner in preparing client meetings and perform after meeting follow-up work.
• To provide relevant management information as required by planner/account manager.
• To work alongside Office Manager and understand TCF requirements to support client management of Company.
• To attend training and develop the relevant knowledge and skills.

• To undertake studies leading to Certified Financial Planner (IFP) (and support continued on to Chartered Financial Planner (PFS) if successful candidate wishes to attain Chartered status).

• In due course, to assist MD with our development of profitable Solicitor Partnerships.

• In due course, if sought by successful candidate, to gradually take on and profitably manage client relationships as lead planner.
 

In a nutshell:

A. Preparing recommendations and financial planning reports
B. Preparing for client meetings and maintaining the client files
C. Seeing through, with the support of colleagues, implemented recommendations
D. Reviewing financial planning (annually or more frequently)

In other words, act as financial planner without ultimate responsibilty for client acquisition or management

E. Qualify as Certified (See IFP) (then Chartered (see PFS/CII))

Any other matter to assist MD as needed.

Success Indicators:

• Timely, high quality and accurate financial plans and client reporting.
• Provision of high quality financial planning and investment service to clients.
• Meeting and exceeding agreed personal development goals, as agreed with MD during reviews.
• Quality support to MD to achieve Company’s goals.
• Achievement of planned progress towards financial planning qualifications.
 

Package:
• Starting salary £30,000 - £35,000
• Up to 30% bonus after fin y/e (31/3) based on success of company and the individual. Paid May.

• Studies paid for – books and exam entrances
• 2 or 3 days' paid study leave for each exam, depending on whether 2 or 3 hour exam
• Cash bonus on exam successes (rises in line with proximity to Chartered from £100 to £300 each paper)
• Guaranteed same amount salary increases on each pass

The Senior Paraplanner will be integral to the team.
